NEWP conducts on water workshops through the paddle season and dependent upon interest. Information on Coastal Workshops is posted here as it becomes available. Information on past workshops will also be kept visible on this site for your information on the types of workshops NEWP instructors coordinate. If you see a particular topic of interest from a past workshop, please let us know of your interest in a future offering.
Saturday June 12
Manitowoc Yacht Club Manitowoc, WI
Coastal Navigation Course - This course is offered to NEWP instructors and assistant instructors with medium to high paddling skill. The class will be taught by John Browning. Participants must have a mounted deck compass, a handheld compass and a map case. The schedule for the day includes a Classroom session from 9 a.m. to Noon, lunch from Noon to 1 p.m. and an On-Water session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Be sure to be prepared for Lake Michigan paddling.

One day Paddler First Aid and CPR training course, conducted by John Browning in accordance with AMA standards and as required for ACA Instructor Certification by 12/31/2010. Course size is limited; priority for participants will be given to NEWP instructors, then NEWP members followed by other ACA instructors in the area.
Cost is being developed and is based on the number of participants but will be below market rates for similar training.

Paddlers Park Two Rivers, WI
Meet at Paddlers Park for a land presentation and then proceed to Lake Michigan (seas permitting). Alternative site is South of the Coast Guard Station. This will be held in conjunction with Kayak Weekend. Participants will have a chance to practice: Leg Hook Re-entry, Paddle Float Re-entry, T&TX Rescues and Towing (demo).
