SATURDAY: Harkening back to 2010 when this paddle series started, we return to Montello and launch from the Rendezvous restaurant and outfitter. We travel 9.2 miles to Mike and Cathy's Good Old Days. Refresh yourself from the rigors of paddling by stopping at Good Old Days afterwards,

SUNDAY: We launch from the public landing in Marquette and travel 12.2 miles to the Princeton Lock. Ice cream in Princeton after the paddle is a definite possibility.

BEFORE THE PADDLE

  1. Please let us know! Tap the button above to let us know to count you in. It helps us plan but doesn't commit you to the trip. You will register and pay your $10 per person at the launch (under 16 free with an adult).
  2. Make registration go faster. Fill out this online fillable form for the ACA Adult Waiver or ACA Minor Waiver in advance. This is a good time to become a member of NEWP for $10 per year plus $25 for ACA (American Canoe Association) membership.

At a Glance

SATURDAY MAY 18

Miles: 9
Arrive: After 9 a.m., arrive at Rendezvous Outfitter in Montello for shuttle (12 minutes each way). Drop off boats, gear and passengers and shuttle your vehicle to the takeout. We'll share rides back to the launch site.
Launch: 11 a.m., Launch from Rendezvous.
Land: Mike and Cathy's Good Old Days. ETA 3 p.m.
Challenges: Moderate distance. Open water on Puckaway Lake.

SUNDAY MAY 19

Miles: 12.2
Arrive: After 9 a.m., arrive at the public boat launch on Lyons Street in Marquette, WI. for shuttle (25 minutes each way).
Launch: 11 a.m., Lyons Street landing in Marquette. Restrooms are available at the launch site.
Lunch: Bring your own.
Land: Princeton Lock. ETA 4:30 p.m.
Challenges: Longer distance. Open water on Puckaway.

Safety

For the safety of all, ACA rules require you must wear your PFD (lifejacket) AT ALL TIMES when on the water and no alcohol during paddles, Bring water, sunscreen and select a paddle buddy.

What if there's weather?

We will paddle in rain, but will immediately get off the water if there is lightning. Check our webpage here or on our Facebook page if the weather threatens to cancel the event. If you have pre-registered, check your email for updates.
